Born and raised in San Francisco, Alicia Nosenzo fell into the hospitality industry when she landed a job at Campton Place Hotel after high school. She fell in love with food and wine, and the special feeling an amazing meal can create. Working at Campton Place was an education in and of itself. Alicia worked with amazing chefs and managers, and learned many elements of what it takes to make a restaurant run well. The team was exacting and pushed hard to be the best, and this left a lifelong impression on Alicia.
After 3 years at Campton Place, she went on to work at top restaurants in SF and NYC, including Aqua, Hawthorne Lane, Jardiniere, and Gramercy Tavern. In 1998, Alicia joined the opening management team of Eleven Madison Park, and spent two years shaping the service and hospitality programs there. She wanted to take another step up in management, so she left EMP to work for Jimmy Bradley and Danny Abrams at The Red Cat. They were growing their company, and Alicia helped them to create structure and systems to run their businesses more efficiently and profitably. With them she opened TheHarrison, The Mermaid Inn and Pace. After six years, she decided it was time to venture out on her own.
In 2007, Alicia opened Perilla with her business partner, Chef Harold Dieterle. The restaurant quickly became a neighborhood favorite. The duo went on to open Kin Shop in 2010 and The Marrow in 2012. The restaurants were well received and popular. After a solid run together, Alicia and Harold wanted to do different things and decided it was time to close up shop. Alicia has gone on to advise and consult with businesses from various industries, but her heart remains in the dynamic and amazing world of food.
